If you change a device driver either by mistake or
just to test it, and unable to restart your Windows NT
system, you can use the "
Last
Known Good Control Set" menu (which appears
during Windows NT bootup) to go back to where you were
before the error occurred. The last known control set is
able to do this by keeping a backup copy of [some of] the
system configuration files from the last successful boot.
This of course means that you can only go back to the
settings which you had at the last successful boot.
