Converts the selected lines to a RSS feed.

Features:

Converts the selected lines to RSS feed tags (Rich Site Summary, also known as Really Simple Syndication).
Interface for modifying news items and entering any missing information.
Three modes for entering news items (titles only, titles + links, and titles + links + descriptions).

Usage:

To create a RSS feed: open a blank document (shortcut: click the "New" button on the toolbar while holding the Shift key down). Type the titles of news items that you would like to include in the RSS feed (one title per line). Select the lines containing the titles, and invoke the plugin. When the wizard dialog appears, enter RSS feed information including web page addresses related to each news title. Optionally, enter a description for each news item. Click "OK" to generate the RSS tags. The tags will appear in the Output window. Right click inside the Output window and select "Open in New Window." Finally, save the file with a *.rss or *.xml extension such as MySite.rss. Upload it to your web site and add a link to it from your homepage or other page on the site. Optionally, add the following tag to the <head>. . .</head> section to make it easier for RSS-enabled browsers to find your RSS news feed: <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS" href="MySite.rss" >.

How do I install hkRSSFromLines?

Download the "hkRSSFromLines" plugin and save it to a folder of your choice (for example, c:\webfiles\). It's not necessary to manually extract the *.zip file, HTML-Kit will expand it to the proper folder during the installation.
Select "Install | Install Plugin" from HTML-Kit's "Tools" menu. Point to the downloaded *.zip file and click "Open."
If any additional prompts appear, follow them to complete the installation.

How do I run it?

Tools

hkRSSFromLines's icon will appear on the "Tools" tab on HTML-Kit's Actions Bar. It can also be invoked from the "Actions | Tools" sub menu.

Which programming language was used to write it?

hkRSSFromLines was written in hkScript. More plugins written in hkScript can be found on the Plugins page.

Whats' the quickest way to uninstall hkRSSFromLines?

Right click the hkRSSFromLines icon on the Actions Bar and select "Uninstall." Alternatively, the "Tools | Install | Uninstall Plugins" menu option in HTML-Kit can be used to uninstall this and other plugins.

Do I need the exact versions of software listed under the Requirements?

The versions listed are the minimum versions required by this plugin. For example, a plugin that requires HTML-Kit Build 290 will run on HTML-Kit Build 292 as well.

The build number can be found on the "About" dialog, which is located on HTML-Kit's "Help" menu.
