Outlines the specified tags while previewing HTML documents.

Features:

  • Makes it easier to visualize page layouts.
     
  • Adds the ability to highlight specific tags (or tags with specific attributes) in the preview.
     
  • Options for locating deprecated tags and attributes.
     
  • Optionally hide images while previewing.
     
  • Preferences dialog for changing the color, size and style of outlines.
     
  • Load images and other page objects from a local path or a remote server by changing the BASE HREF setting.
     
  • Preview using internal browser windows (default) or external browsers (optional setting).
     
  • Zero-setup preview (no need to create preview rules).

Shortcuts:

  • Outline TABLEs, DIVs, paragraphs, PRE tags, FORMs, lists, heading tags or images.
     
  • Outline multiple block-level tags.
     
  • Outline the specified tags, optionally with specific IDs or attributes.
     
  • Quickly locate deprecated tags such as FONT, CENTER and U.
     
  • Highlight tags with deprecated attributes such as align, bgcolor, color, IMG border / hspace / vspace, HR noshade / size and TD height / width.
     
  • Outline tags with inline styles.

Usage:

  • To preview the current document with outlines of block-level tags: invoke the plugin by clicking its icon.
     
  • To outline a specific tag or attribute: open the plugin drop-down menu and select the related option.
     
  • To change the style of outlines: select Settings from the plugin menu, check the Custom Colors option and click OK to access outline style properties.
     
  • To preview a page while hiding images: open the document and select Hide Images from the plugin menu.

Notes:

  • Majority of menu options can function in the default internal browser (no changes necessary). Options marked with (*) are designed to work in Gecko mode. If the optional Gecko mode is enabled, the plugin will use the Gecko preview as necessary.

How do I install irHTMLShow?

  • Download the "irHTMLShow" plugin and save it to a folder of your choice (for example, c:\webfiles\). It's not necessary to manually extract the *.zip file, HTML-Kit will expand it to the proper folder during the installation.
     
  • Install Plugin
    Select "Install | Install Plugin" from HTML-Kit's "Tools" menu. Point to the downloaded *.zip file and click "Open."
     
  • If any additional prompts appear, follow them to complete the installation.
